Lambda Epsilon Sigma started as an idea in 2009 during the 67th Northeastern Regional Conference in Alexandria, Va. when Zaria Davis-Humphries and DaKisha Payne Williams met and discussed the possibility of chartering in the Rowan/Salisbury community. About a year later, a meeting took place in Salisbury to further discuss the plan of chartering in the area. A strategic plan was created, submitted and approved by Regional Director Deborah I. Walsh. On June 5, 2010, Lambda Epsilon Sigma Alumnae Chapter was officially chartered. In 2011, the chapter inherited the Mu Tau undergraduate chapter at Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC. The Lambda Epsilon Sigma Alumnae chapter continues to focus on its internal motto of “Leadership, Education, and Service.”
